Yg jadi pertanyaan gue, kenapa baru dikeluarinnya taun ini ? Padahal udah rencana dari taun 2005 sehabis nyelenggarain JJF yg pertama. Kalo taun ini dikeluarin, kan otomatis nyedot banyak duit karena gue mau semuaaa !!!!! huhuhuhuhu..

Mudah-mudahan murah meriah deh, kyknya gak mungkin ya ? Ya berdoa bersama sajalah.

Setelah Sister Duke dan Soulvibe, RAN adalah salah satu band pendatang baru yg gue prediksi bakal bersinar di tahun ini.

Great music ! Dengerin albumnya ga bosen-bosen tuh sampe skrg. Hehehe.

Band ini merupakan projek dari Nengah Krisnarini, yg di-band ini bertindak sebagai vocals, programming, songwriter, producer.

Born at the end of 1981 to Balinese-Minangkabau parents, Nengah Krisnarini discovered her passion for music at an early age; singing random melodies and lyrics which usually bothered her older brother at the time because he did not recognize any of them. It turned out that she wasn’t singing someone else’s songs, they were hers.

Later in middle school, her classmates recognized her soothing yet strong voice and asked her to join his band. In 1997, she won the best vocalist title in Tawuran Musik Levi’s, a band festival held by a very famous radio station in Indonesia. She also received similar title during her study in Australia from “Terbaik”, a band competition for Indonesian students in Sydney.

She wrote a few songs during that period, yet not until she gained her bachelor degree and got back to Indonesia that she realized her potential in songwriting and decided to take it more seriously. She also developed an interest in music programming after listening to some remixes on Jazz standards. This lead her to Sister Duke, which was initially a duo formed in 2005 with one of her fellow band mates while in Sydney. But after a year of musical journey in Sister Duke together, her partner decided to pull out. Feeling the urge to continue the legacy, Sister Duke then became her solo project.

Aware of her own shortcomings at playing musical instruments, she invited Doni Yudawan Joesran, a talented jazz pianist to fill the void. After working together for a while, they realized that they shared the same frequency in music, hence Doni agreed when Nengah asked him to help her out even further as a keyboardist and music arranger for her solo project. In November 2007, Sister Duke’s debut album “Highlight of the Day” which she produced herself was released.

Being greatly inspired by her loved ones, her endeavor in music is to quench the musical thirst of those who have faith in her.
